Winery Review: Aromas of white peaches and white flowers, sea spray, and oyster shell flavors range from casaba melon to citrus zest with a hint of crème fraiche in the finish.

My Review: This week's theme was the pinots. I did one red and one white. For the white, I chose Carving Board. It seemed to be middle of the road in price. I don't have much experience with pinot grigio so I wasn't sure what to expect from this wine. The color was very pale and almost looked like I poured a glass of water. When I first opened the bottle it had a very strong smell to it. You could probably smell it from across the room. It was citrusy and floral and smelled like a moldy cork. After sniffing it a few times, I ventured out to taste it. It was very light and crisp. It had a chemical taste that I could only describe as the dust they put on Cheetos. It had a cheesy flavor to it. It was very odd. After a few sips, it smoothed out a bit and finished with a bit more body and a hint of a lime flavor. It was quite tart. I didn't really like it so I didn't pair it with food. It sat in the fridge for a few days before I decided to toss it. To quote my husband's reaction he stated, "someone must have scraped this s*** off the floor before putting it in my glass." Needless to say, it tasted like moldy Cheetos with a sprinkle of lime juice on top. I wouldn't recommend buying this wine....to anyone.
