Winery Review: Has gorgeous aromatics, plenty of citrus and tropical fruit, a clean mouth feel and a nice depth on the finish.

My Review: When I learned that rose could come in a dry version that was not sweet, I really wanted to try some. I'm not a fan of the American blush versions of rose. I didn't know much about this type of wine, so when I picked it out, I had to ask the guy at the store to point me in the right direction.

When I first opened the bottle it had a light floral scent to it.....go figure it smelled like roses. There was also a hint of honeysuckle and cherry tree blossoms. It also had a bit of grapefruit that snuck in there as well.

When I tasted it, it was strange...it tasted like spicy strawberries. It had a heat to it that I was definitely not expecting. I assumed because it was pink that it would have a light delicate flavor. While it did have light body, it packed in the flavor. It did finish off with that grapefruit bite. It was really quite pleasant.

I was really craving tacos at this point and figured why not. We had grilled chicken tacos from Del Taco and it was a beautiful match. The sour cream and the spiciness of the meat toned down the spiciness of the wine. It was PERFECT! I will definitely buy this one from now on. I've tried a few other roses from other places and they are just a bit on the sweet side. Even if they say they are French rose. This has the perfect combination of sour and sweet and acid to make it a great wine to drink.
